Personally my guess is that just tried to cram too much in too small of a package to run properly, but time will tell if they can get it ironed out. I really wanted the Sig 365, and came close to pulling the trigger on one, but have heard way too many reports of issues, even after a soft recall/update by Sig, that it will be many years before I'd be willing to trust one. I think the 43x/48 might be the best compromise gun where you are limited to 10 round mags, but don't want to be further capacity limited. Still carrying my Kimber 1911 9mm whenever the likelihood of needing more firepower occurs.Īlso just picked up a Glock 48, will be carrying that going forward as soon as the weather gets nice enough that I can put a bunch of rounds through it and get a set of night sights, probably in the next month or so. Been pocket carrying that (in a pocket holster) for the past year or so. Shortly after I picked up a Remington RM380 that had a rebate, ended up into it for a little over 100 bucks brand new, great gun (honestly might be the best build quality firearm Remington is producing these days). Problem was that I looked at the spec's on the LS, then found myself side-tracked looking at the STI Escort, then found myself side-tracked looking at the STI Shadow, then found myself side-tracked looking at the STI Lawman. To follow up, never ended up buying end of them. Need to pick up a couple of extra magazines so I can ship them to a guy in Commiefornia who will replace the removable base plate with a welded one and drill some witness holes in the magazine itself. Oh and since I'm just not thrilled with the stock grips, I just ordered a set of VZ Operator II grips for it. Springfield 911 I know this has probably been beat to death, but getting ready to purchase another carry piece. Just the right size and both the weight and balance are excellent. It litterally got lost in my big paws.Īs for the EMP, it surely does feel amazing in my hand. After holding the P938 for two minutes I knew it was NOT the pistol for me. Also the trigger is pinned at the top so it will actuate differently than a more traditional 1911.Īs a follow-up to this thread, I finally found a couple of gun shops that had P938's and EMP's in stock. Not sure why but my eyes tend to pick that up. What I don't like about the P938 us that, for some reason, the magwell looks oddly large compared to the rest of the pistol. The SIG P938 is a possibility as it's the follow-on to the P238 which is a glorified Colt Mustang. The EMP also has a more traditional 1911 look to it with the skeletonized hammer and triffer. To me this means that I'm now limited to either buying replacement parts from SA or having a gunsmith do some serious custom work to make them fit. What I'm not liking is that my reading seems to indicate that Springfield had to trim the EMP's 1911 parts slightly to make them fit in the form factor of the EMP. I like the EMP since it's definitely more of a traditional 1911-style pistol. Unfortunately, finding both at the same LGS at the same time are proving somewhat challenging. Oh and I want this new pistol to be in 9mm (not negotiable).Īt the moment, my choices are the Springfield EMP and the new SIG P938. It is not a 1911 platform at all, but the XD-E is a pistol in the same size class as the Kimber and. We also added to the mix a new polymer-frame 9mm with a DA/SA trigger, the Springfield Armory XD-E. After looking at Kimber's offering, I've decided that it's just not want I'm looking for. So we obliged and assembled a pair of 1911 micro-9mm pistols, a Kimber Micro 9 Desert Tan (LG) with laser grip and a SIG Emperor Scorpion P938. Unfortunately, however, there are not a lot to choose from. I am wanting to keep the size comparable so my options at the moment are sub-compact 1911's. Since I am a 1911 fan, my thought is to replace it with another 1911-like pistol. As much as I love that pistol, it's now 28 years old and it just won't feed JHP's reliably. In this video we look at, and go hands on with SIGs P. Am thinking about replacing the Colt Government. The Sig Sauer Legion series offers a wide range of handgun variations for most models in their lineup.
